“Picking the right thing to work on is the most important element in being productive and is often overlooked. Many people spend too much time on puzzling how to optimize their workflow, and not enough on questioning if they’re working on the right problems.”
So true! I remember the quote, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”… How I have learned through bitter experience that I should spend more time sharpening my axe.
The amount of times I have had to do, and re-do…and re-do things is laughable, because I didn’t do it right first time!
Even with this insight, I am still tempted to go ahead and do. There is something about research and planning that doesn’t tick my “Yay! I’m progressing and it feels good” box!
